Welcome to The Well

If you've had the chance to visit, you’ve likely noticed the unique character of the 102-year-old grain elevator we call home. Built in 1922, this elevator was constructed using an impressive cribbed technique—stacking pieces of OS 2-by-6 inch lumber to create strong, interlocking corner joints. It was built to hold 30,000 bushels of grain or about 1.5 million pounds within its walls. It’s definitely worth taking a moment to look up and appreciate this piece of history.

Our building has gone by many names over the years, including The Wellington Elevator, The Denver Elevator, Heiden’s Feed & Grain, Ranch-Way Feeds, Seaworth Agriculture Enterprises, and Creative Welding & Fabrication. Now, it's proudly known as The Well In Wellington.

Many people don’t know that this property has also been home to a business operating nearly 24/7/365 for over a decade. Our sister company, Grouse Malt House, celebrated its 11th anniversary at the elevator this past September, in conjunction with the Grand Opening of the taproom. Grouse is a dedicated gluten-free, craft malt house, providing premium malt to brewers and bakers, worldwide. If you’d like to learn more about Grouse’s story, take a look here.

The Well is a culmination of passions, bringing full circle Grouse Malt House’s product. We offer delicious craft beer brewed on site with locally grown and in-house malted grains, safe for people with a gluten allergy or intolerance. Bringing The Well to life has been a community effort. We’re grateful to our talented partners and team members, both past and present. A special thank you goes out to our mentors, family, farmers, and customers who have all been integral in making this dream a reality.

What’s Next?

While our Fall Live Music Series is wrapping up, we have exciting plans for the future! The Well will remain open on Friday evenings throughout the winter, continuing to bring you curated provisions. We also have special events in the works. We're partnering with local talents, such as Source & Self Kitchen, who will host a pop-up dinner on November 1st, featuring traditional Venezuelan arepas!

In November we also launch our monthly fundraiser, supporting Guitars 4 Vets! Stay tuned for more details on this initiative and more collaborations.

We’re now booking both public and private events, so if you’re looking for a space to host a party or gathering, consider The Well—your local watering hole and gathering space.

We look forward to hosting you! Until then, be Well.
